MPR used Moon Spruce as a top, and Cocobolo as a back and side wood.
Moon Spruce - Originating from Switzerland, Moon spruce possesses a white snowy appearance and a straight, tight wood grain. It can accommodate different climates exceptionally, which makes it one of the more durable and stable tone woods. It takes time to open up but its sound will have rich overtones in tandem with complex tonal harmonics.
Cocobolo - Cocobolo has a striking reddish wood grain and although it is part of the family of rosewood, it is much harder and denser. These special characteristics make this hardwood punch back with more power, all the while delivering a clearer pronounced sound. It sustains a saturated fuller sound in the high, mid and low ranges. The extra low resonance tone it carries is truly remarkable. This tonewood is often labeled as the “holy grail” for finger-style playing.
Top, back and sides are all solid wood. aNueNue uses wood that has been naturally air dried wood and are season for many years before even being put into production. All our solid woods are used for our high end pieces. All aNueNue’s solid wood pieces require time to open up and will develop an overall distinguished more complex harmonic tone quality.
The Spalted-Maple rosette was designed for the elegant look. The cocobolo binding extending from the top of the body to the curve was inspired by the concept of moon phases.
MPR has a classic-headstock design made with a ebony veneer in mother of pearl logo. The Japanese Gotoh gear tuners with 1:18 gear ratio for precise tuning.
Ebony is a hard dense tone wood with silky smooth feeling. It's a stable wood to be a fretboard, adds brightness to the tone, and faster attack. Phoenix inlayed with mother of pearl, cocobolo, rosewood and mahogany material across the fretboard, and design with 45mm nut width. The 20-frets design allows for endless tonal possibilities.
Bridge / Saddle
The oval-shaped ebony bridge helps support the string tension. The buffalo bone for the nut which is very hard and articulate. This helps the strings to vibrate and to have a deep resonance. The compensated saddle designed to provide the accurate intonation and produce the correctly pitched note.
